1) Moores Car Rental facilitates reservations for car rental services. Your contract for car rental will be between you and the car rental company. Moores Car Rental makes no warranty or representation in relation to any car rental company or any vehicle rented by any car rental company. It is the car rental company's sole responsibility to provide you with a car rental vehicle rented on this booking site. (When making a car reservation, you will be entering an agreement directly with one of our partner(s).) All payments are processed directly by the car rental company / tour operator whose offer you have chosen. If you have a question regarding an existing car rental or service issue you should contact the provider listed on your booking voucher confirmation email. By using this website to book your car you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and the terms and conditions of our booking agents. Where there is any conflict between these terms and the terms of our booking agent the terms of our booking agent shall prevail. Driving Licenses' & I.D. - driving licences' must be produced at time of collection of rental vehicle.(Additional drivers must be present at collection also and show their driving licence. UK Driving licence holders must produce both parts - plastic & paper if holding the latest release. Photocopies are not acceptable under any circumstances.) A secondary form identification must be produced at time of collection also - preferably a passport; a utility bill will suffice for UK residents but, a passport for all overseas residents is essential. (No refund of deposit will be given for rentals rejected due to non-production of a driving licence, I.D., non-disclosed endorsements or accidents) All drivers must be aged 25 years & with no upper age limit depending on rental company (Please ensure you have read the "terms & conditions" of the rental company/tour operator in full before committing to book a vehicle.) and deemed fit to drive a vehicle on collection.(It is advisable not to consume any alcohol for at least 24 hours before driving a vehicle.) All drivers must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 12 months or 24 months depending on rental company and be free of serious driving endorsements. Overseas visitors must produce a driving licence issued in their country of permanent residence. (If the licence is not written in English, then an International licence must be produced as well.) The minimum age for renting a "Group: FVMN & Group: FVAR" is 25 or 30 years depending on rental company and for "Groups: PDAR, LDAR & FXAR" the minimum age is 30 years in all cases. All rates are fully inclusive and are quoted in UK sterling and include:- Unlimited Mileage, CDW Insurance & Theft Cover - with an excess * (* Optional Excess Reduction is not included. If you purchase the Excess Reimbursement Insurance from a third party insurance underwriter the credit card holder will be required to present his or her credit card at the rental company in order for the car rental agent to authorize the deposit.), Free Extra Driver on most rates, Third Party Liability, Airport or Location Surcharge, Road Fund Tax and Value Added Tax. The price quoted is the price you pay with no hidden costs - guaranteed. (No, cancellation fee either.) All vehicles are subject to availability and all reservations are confirmed or declined within 24hrs. If, a vehicle is collected from one location and returned to a different location, a supplementary "One Way Fee" will be charged; this "fee" is payable directly to the rental company when collecting the vehicle and is not included in the quoted price or shown on the booking voucher. (The figure to be charged - normally 35.00 GPB + VAT.) - will be clearly shown in the "Booking Terms and Conditions" before you acknowledge and commit to reserving a vehicle. There is no "One Way Fee" between London/London Airport locations, including: - Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport, Luton Airport, Stansted Airport and London City Airport.) Please note some of the vehicle groups are not available at all the locations. CDW Insurance excludes cover to the following items:- windscreens, windows, tyres, wheels, wheel trims, wiper blades and any interior harm. Child Seats can be supplied and are subject to availability and will be charged at cost by the rental company on collection. The majority of rental companies operate the following fuel policy:- All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel at the start of the rental and client's may:- 1) purchase this tank of fuel at a discounted rate and return the vehicle empty, or (some rental companies insist on 1) 2) return the vehicle full at the end of the rental, or 3) return the vehicle part full and be charged for missing fuel at the end of the rental at the locally determined price.
2) Payment - on collection of the vehicle, all rental companies require a credit card deposit to cover the insurance excess and the cost of a full tank of fuel if applicable. (Please note that the main driver must complete the booking form and must hold a valid credit card in their name. Bookings are only accepted via "on-line" and cannot be accepted from third parties or by telephone.) The details of charges are always are sent with your confirmation. (Either a reservation fee or the rental charge in full is charged at time of booking and the "balance of rental" is paid on collection - this is dependent on which rental company or tour operator is utilized for your reservation.) If, for whatever reason credit cards fail to "authorize", you will be informed by "e-mail" and invited to re-book.
3) Cancellation - if you wish to cancel a booking you may do so at any time at least 48hrs before the start of the rental date by utilizing the "Contact" page depending on the "Terms & Conditions" of the individual Rental Company/Tour Operator.
4) Rental Period - the minimum rental charge is 1 day from when the vehicle is picked up. Rental charges are calculated on a 24 hour basis and there is a 30 minute "grace" period for returning a vehicle; if, a vehicle is returned over 30 minutes late then, the rental company will automatically charge another day's rental directly to you at their published rates.
5) Unused Rental Days - are not refundable under any circumstances by any of the rental companies.
6) Moores Car Rental does not provide insurance; coverage is provided by the rental company utilized for the booking. There is no insurance coverage for personal injuries to driver or passengers; optional coverage may be offered locally by the rental company for an additional fee. Insurance Excess and Theft Liability - 650.00/1200.00 pounds sterling and Groups: PDAR and LDAR carry an "excess" minimum of 800.00 pounds sterling. (Some of the rental companies have a 800.00/1500.00 pounds sterling "excess" on Groups: FVMN, FVAR & LDAR.) All rates are inclusive of "CDW Insurance" subject to the appropriate "Insurance Excess and Theft Liability Excess" as quoted above. "CDW Insurance" cover cannot be declined with any of the rental companies we utilize. Please note that the "booking voucher" sent confirming the rental is not a rental agreement. Moores Car Rental act's as an agent for various car rental companies and tour operators and when you collect a vehicle from them you, sign a rental agreement and subject to local law and their "Terms & Conditions".
7) It is the policy of all the rental companies to hold reservations for up to two hours beyond the scheduled arrival time. If, a flight arrival is delayed beyond that time and a valid flight number has been supplied the reservation will be held open. If you experience a delay, it is advisable to contact the rental location and is essential if you are making your own way to an airport or non-airport location. (The vehicle will not be held beyond two hours and you will be penalised with the "No Show" charge of the deposit or rental charge in full if you do not make contact).
8) Amendments to confirmed bookings - totally free of charge. (It is essential any alterations be made via Moores Car Rental as we charge for the period indicated on your booking form and a refund will not be considered otherwise. In some instances your, initial booking will need to be cancelled - your, deposit refunded - and new reservation submitted to avoid penalty charges).
9) Driving Convictions & Accidents - all driving offences up to 5 years old and road traffic accidents under 3 years old must be declared on the booking form for consideration, failure to answer truthfully could cause insurance cover to be invalidated by the rental company utilized for the booking. (Drink, Drug & Dangerous driving convictions must be over 8 years old).
10) Parking, Road Traffic Offences & Congestion Charges - are the liability of the driver of the hire vehicle. All rental companies will pass on the fine imposed by the relevant authority and also their own administration fee directly.
11) "Thumbprint Signature Scheme" - many of the rental companies have introduced this scheme and it is mandatory before they will release a vehicle. This is to protect their customers as well as themselves from fraud, they will require from you a thumbprint signature on their rental agreement. (The Touch Pads are not like an ink-pad and will not stain hands or clothes.) The information is only obtained for the prevention and detection of crime and will only be used if a crime has been committed. "The Thumbprint Signature" will not be filed or supplied to another person other than to the police in the above circumstances. Only if the rental is subsequently proved to be fraudulent will it be handed to the police as part of their "evidential package".
12) Occupations - some rental companies have restrictions due to insurance reasons. All the rental companies retain the right to decline any booking without giving a reason.
13) Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the client receives the actual make of vehicle booked, a suitable alternative make could be supplied as all the rental companies utilize various car manufacturers for supply of their vehicles. We guarantee to always supply a vehicle from the group booked - not engine size - and if necessary a free upgrade of a higher vehicle group will be supplied if the lower group booked vehicle becomes unavailable. All vehicles are subject to availability and all bookings are confirmed or declined within 24hrs.
14) Privacy - we only request essential information to enable us to process your reservation and not for any other purpose whatsoever; you will never receive unsolicited emails from us. Client's details are never sold or passed onto third parties for marketing purposes. Moores Car Rental complies in accordance to The Data Protection Act 1998 under Registration Number:- Z8061959. 15) Please note that as of 17/02/2003 vehicles that are driven into Central London will be liable to a "Congestion Charge" of £10.00 per day that runs from 07:00 - 18:00 Monday - Friday - excluding Public Holidays. If you do not pay the "Congestion Charge", any fines or penalties will be the liability of the driver of the rental vehicle. (The rental company will also pass on their own administration fee.)
